For general info... I use the term CA all the time and some folks apparently do not know what that means.........

In a Commonwealth state the attorney in charge of prosecuting cases in a given jurisdiction is referred to as the COMMONWEALTH ATTORNEY. There are 4 states in the US that are Commonwealths... Kentucky, Massachusetts, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Commonwealth: a political unit founded in law by agreement of the people for the common good

IN OTHER STATES THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY performs the same job.

So now you know the rest of the story.......

In the District of Columbia those duties are handled by United States Department of Justice via the United States Attorney's Office. A very small number of minor crimes are handled by the Attorney General for The District of Columbia i.e. Disorderly Conduct, Traffic, Child Support Enforcement, etc...

Here we use the terms District Attorney, Deputy District Attorney, Assistant District Attorney, etc.

The "District Attorney" is an elected position, but the others are "hired" by the elected one. Apparently even the elected DA position can be overturned by the "elected" district judge, so things are very confusing as to who is in control. All I know is that the deputy district attorney in office at the time is a total prick, so hope that when the old (the previously elected DA before the current one) comes back in office, that he is more open to our biz and weapons than the one currently in office.

Oh, no........ you mean........ a person involved in court proceedings is a............ Oh, NO............... Damn....

Actually, I would imagine that is probably everywhere.... as another post alluded to....... there are many in our associated businesses that are quite knowledgeable and easy but then there are the others that are.... I think he referred to them as 'assholes'......... I think it has something to do with little minds having great power and it goes to their butts as well as their heads.........

One comes to mind in one of my courts.... a really great assistant CA/DA but the Chief CA/DA is a lady who happens to be........ well, being a lady I can't exactly call her a prick... maybe bitch would be more appropriate... however, my daughter says she is a bitch too and that the definition of a bitch is........... : B-babe, I-in, T-total, C-control of H-herself...

Anyway, we all have our little...... is it 'acronyms"?

Kathy, you and the other ladies on here... are so............ 'descriptive'....

but the funniest line yet to me anyway..... was when Angela told me to "put down the pipe"... I rolled on that one..........
