The troop build-up has begun, allies are mobilizing, and supplies are being stockpiled. We're going into Oregon folks!! Two local industry members and I met with a lobbyist group yesterday to approach the subject of introducing commercial bail bonds to Oregon after 30+ years of exclusion. The last attempt was in the mid '90's. We have solicited the support of a couple of the largest surety companies in the country as well as the American Bail Coalition and have been offered whatever resources and personnel we need to move forward with this. We are hoping to build support among the legislators over the next 6 months and craft a bill that will be introduced in the legislative session next year. Of course one of our biggest arguments will include the difficulty in recovering defendants in Oregon so if we can make this happen, that will leave one less state for folks to try to hide in. Any support in this endeavor will be much appreciated and I will of course keep everyone posted on the progress we're making. Onward to victory!!

I wish something could be done about Illinois and Kentucky as well. Being right next door, they have been a thorn in my side on many occaisions.
Good luck.

Good luck. Well one step at a time. If we are successful in Oregon, it might be a great show pony to present to the remaining dissenters. We shall see what we shall see.

The Governor of Kentucky, who spear headed removing commercial bail from that state actually testified against commercial bail in Maryland before our State legislature. He has since died, so hopefully his fervor against bondsmen went with him.

Scott Death is the great recycler. It allows the energy of life to be redirected in new and potentially more effective ways. There is a major generation of elders, some with very rigid and even illogical concepts that will be making way for new and expansive ways of thinking. I'm excited about life and the opportunities we are facing. I also look forward to being mixed into the great recycler myself some day and passing on my energy to the next generation that will take what we have built and turn it into something newer and grander. Hopefully...

Thanks for the support Scott!! Jae is busy working on the Webzine up in Seattle for the most part. This effort is actually a three-way effort between myself, Jeremy Hubbard from A-Affordable, and Dave Regan Jr. from Regan's. A couple of young bucks over here taking the helm and making things happen!!
