I think it's in their contract that allows all of this crap to be aired publicly that if they have a weapon it will prevent their being paid the stipend they probably get for playing along.
Also, Hawaii doesn't allow people to carry guns, so maybe the crooks are all law abiding in that manner...
On the same vein, Wisconsin told us that we couldn't use any weapon that was not humane. No real weapons, no tazers, only mace that was made from natural products and environmentally friendly. HUH??? We made the arrest there with 2 fingers in the guy's back. Boy was he mad when he turned around.
Then he tried to tell us that if we took him it was kidnapping because WI doesn't recognize BEA. That is one state the cops are not always helpful but in both of our cases they were.
BTW, most of our bondsmen, including me, have our bondees sign a "Waiver of Extradition" at the time of the bond. This helps clear a lot of red tape in some states. It is also on the legal form that we and they sign if they legally get a consent to leave the state.
