I am interested in getting into this field as I have a few friends that do it. Only problem is, I was the problem child  , and got into some trouble not to long ago for drugs. I Recieved two felony charges for them and served some time. It was a poor desicion on my part and it took me getting into trouble to realize that. I now have a new group of friends who are working toward law degrees and would like to do something along the same lines as there are some real people out there in desperate need of help and sometimes going to jail is what they need, it's what I needed. But if anyone could let me know if this past would hinder me from doing work in this field please let me know. I will also be contacting local fugitive recovery centers and asking them, that is North Dakota. Thanks again for your help and good hunting!!!

Most states will not allow a person with felony convictions to work in this field.

Felony convictions, in most state's, also prohibit alot of other aspects of this industry:

1) Crossing state lines

2) Carrying any kind of weapon

3) Being in possession of LEO gear

4) Coming in contact with weapons

5) Being able to pass background checks

I'm sure there are others I am missing.
