Hello everyone I am a new member and wanted to say Hi. I think this site is great and full of information. I will be attending the North West Bail Enforcement Academy as soon as I find out next years schedule, unfortunately I was not able to attend this years class. Does anyone know of a good firearms training course in or around S.W. Idaho and maybe someone I may contact when I am ready for apprentiship. I am looking for quality information and training before I try and jump in to this business. Unfortunately I have no military or police training because I lost my right eye along time ago, and that made it impossible for me to join. I know this type of training is perfered, but not necessary. Any information I can gain from the people on this site is very well appreciated. Thank you and be carefull out there.

Great questions, Patch. One suggestion that most will make, to help with your questions is to go to the FAQ section of the forum. Another would be to use the search option. Most questions can be asked with one of these two ways. Good luck to you. Sorry I can not personally help any more than this, with your questions, due to my being in the south east.

Re: Firearms Training- Most S.O.'s offer these courses. if not go to your local firing range and sign up there. If that doesn't work, then contact the NRA.

You can always sign up for classes through Blackwater USA of California. They offer several courses designed for what we do.

But please remember: This job is not dependent on firearms. If you are doing this to fill a "wannabe cop" dream, then I urge you to stop now.

90-95% off all of my apprehensions do not involve firearms. Firearms, are an added liability, responsibility, and sometimes more trouble than they are worth.

I respect your attitude and desire to enter this trade the right way. Thank you for choosing this approach.

Take care and God Bless,

Ruffin.

Mindtracker,
I am only interested in the firearms trainning to be ready for all situations that may arise. I understand that BEA are not cops and have no intentions on becoming one of the BEA's that give this bussiness a bad rap. I am sure all of you are concerned when people ask about firearms. I would like to thank you for the info, I will look @ all the options and find wich one will work best.
Thanks again,
Patch
