I agree with BondgirlCT on this one. I have yet to see a Bounty Hunter TV show that does not ultimately show our industry in a negative light. I believe the main reason is EDITING. The times that I have been approached about letting someone film one of our captures or letting someone do a "ride along" the negotiation always breaks down when I demand a say in the editing. There are way too many people out there desperate enough to get on television that they will agree to almost anything. Anyone who has done more than couple of captures can attest to all the things that might go wrong and the way any of us might be viewed unfavorably. It has always been my private contention that the worst thing to happen to the industry because of DTBH is the effect it has had on newbies and seasoned pros alike. No longer are many of us satisfied to just capture bail jumpers. With the popularity of DTBH and shows like it, many of us now want to be celebrities and share in the fame and riches derived from a television career. Sometimes I grow nostalgic for the times when no one knew we existed and we were free to slip in and out of the shadows, but I'm afraid those days are over for good.

People are desperate for fame, and they will do anything. Who cares if they are big chested Latinas...its all for attention. I'm a 5"4 Polish girl who hates being photographed...I am NOT out for fame. I'm happy picking them up and moving on to the next case...

and where is mediarod when he is needed
When this first aired we (he & I) spoke. Only Jag (of the ladies) is a bondsman, the other girls were cast. So, reality tv  . . . Thank God not
I have not seen it yet, but hear the same feed back from those that have as I have read here.

I am not offended. I am fairly new. I didn't know why you asked so I gave more information than you asked for. Hope this is the answer you were asking about.

This is not to brag. This is only to let you know my...LOL...creditials (like I have any). I have been researching this industry 1 1/2 years. I took my certification class Aug. 16th 2007 and began working within the same week. I have 7 arrests in two weeks and on two of those, I was Team Leader. I have started handling the skip tracing on cases along with the planning of pre-text or straight forward, where to begin, next move, and closing cases. I am registered in 5 counties and next week I am turning in paperwork for three more.

the reason for my post was your reference to another as "Newbie" and I thought that you were in the same boat.

Stay safe

Sorry. I meant that to be a pat on the back for all of us "newbies". OK. I didn't do a good job of explaining, again. I'll do it this way so that I feel better about it:

"Even us newbies can make good and valid points, too. It is good..."

Thank you for pointng that out, Scott. I know from past posts and the praise you get from others that you aren't the type to pound a person for a mistake. You don't seem to be out for the praise and glory but I will send it anyway. I can tell you are a great person...Look at that name. With a name like Scott...you have to be of desent character.

BondGirCT I have to agree with you in regardes to the picture thing. I see a camera I head the other way. I do not want my picture anywhere except on my creds. I believe in keeping a very low profile. It's just easier to work that way.
