What I was trying to suggest, which was lost on a few people, that he stay in school, get a college degree or vocational certificate, some kind of back up trade, get a job with a 20 yr retirement plan - i.e. Military, Law Enforcement, Electronics, Banking, etc...then at age 38 begin a career as a BEA if he still is interested in it.
We all know that none of us makes it as a BEA only...we all have supplemental incomes from other things...bonding, accounting, pi work, mechanics, construction, etc.

The only time I scratch now is when I'm sitting on the front deck of our house "up the hill", 9 miles from town, 2 miles from the nearest neighbor and I just got bit on my leg by a deer fly!
The Boss doesn't let me scratch at home.

Ive had threats many times.
Just a few precuations. For one, get a PO BOX, dont use your home addy for mailing.
Ive never really worried too much about threats. I pay attention pretty well to my surroundings. Of course, I live in a rural area too. Might be different in a big city.
