Hello Everyone! I am new to all of this. I am in Tulsa Oklahoma and i am starting in the Fugitive Recovery Business. However, the person my husband and I started this with is not working out. Long Story. My question is has anyone heard of A to Z fugitive Recovery? or William Thomas Guthrie? I need to get a hold of him.

Next question, whats the easiet way for my husband and i to get going on this withouth him. My husband has obtained a badge and ID through this guy. But how do we know now if he is legit? We invested small $$ in this. So we might as well get going on it ourselves. I have searched all I can on the internet on how to get started. Currently I am not aware of any laws on Fugitive recovery in Oklahoma. Is it as simple as getting a warrant from the court/bail bondsman and start their?(of course contacting local authorities before we try to apprehend)

Please help us.

Bright,

1) Check all of your state laws

2) Attend a legitimate and recognized BEA School

3) Read the section on here entitled "BEA FAQ's".

4) Any other question you may have use the search function on this forum. Several answers to routine rookie questions have been answered, repeatedly, on this forum.

If I may voice an opinion here : Please please please do not imitate tv personalities.

We are trying consistently to change the image of this profession. We ask and encourage BEA's and PI's to dress professionally at all times while conducting field interviews, meeting with CJ officials, attorney's, etc. The more professional you are, the more respect you will garner from the CJ community.

Please make sure all paperwork is professionally written, edited, spell checked, and on official professional company stationary.

So bear in mind that you truly are representing an entire industry when you claim to be a BEA.

Never argue with the CJ community, always do a LEO check in before working an area; in some states this is required; especially when setting up surveillance.

It will also greatly aid you to be licensed as a PI; again, even to do recovery work in some states this is required.

Thanks for your opinion Mindtracker. My husband and I take this very seriously and do not want to deface or hurt the fugitive recovery industry as dog has or any other tv personality has. There is a lot at risk in my opinion for anyone doing this type of work, so it needs to be taken seriously and as professional as can be.

My husband and I have a lot to learn about this. We even thought of cutting our losses, but we feel we can contribute to the Recovery industry in a positive way and also take in knowledge and gain respect for the fellow agents. We understand it will be a slow and rough road for us. Especially after this guy just scammed us out of some money saying he was a fugitive recovery agent. one of my first steps is a civil suit on him for doing what he did, he slandered the recovery industry, I'm trying to keep in my head not all are like him.
