Does anyone have any exp or feedback on the "non-repeater" commercial radios? Specifically the Motorola CP200 or XTN XU2100 series. I think the CP series is newer. My PD dept uses MXT?? on a repeater system of course, I wondered how the point to point, but "good quality" radios worked. I was told to get UHF which comes in 4 or 2 watt.

We used UHF Motorolas for years with decent results. Much better than the VHF around buildings. I don't remember if they were 2 or 4 watt however. We use Nextels pretty much out of convenience but obviously in a very rural environment where cellular doesn't work they are useless.

The XTN radios are pretty good. We used them for awhile.
