Rick,
While I appreciate your emotions, please allow me to point out some things that I read in between the lines:
1) The day care provider was apprehensive at first at the baby's initial behaviours. She even questioned the mother about it.
2) This was a new child care provider for this child..3 days ? Again the provider had suspicions something wasn't right.
3) More often than not, the abuse occurred at home, then the parents blame the provider's hoping to wina major lawsuit.
My take on this is that these parents did the abusing, and are trying to avoid criminal charges/prosecution as well as win alot of money.

The real tragedy here is, that in the good USA of today, we can't or don't have time to raise our own kids.
Either because of economics or the I'm woman watch me roar syndrone, families have kids and immediatley ship them off to be raised by strangers.

That is not at all what happened.
The ones raising their children now are the offspring (Me Generation)of the products of the 60s & 70s and you know what that means. They enterd into adulthood during the Clinton era ~ yep ~ that is the time period during which the "Sheeple" were convinced that it "takes a village" to raise the child and see what happened. All I see is a bunch of dopers (the ones raised by the village mentality) and quite frankly that worries me ~ I mean after all who is going to clean up after us when no longer can ?????

I raised my own so I know that there will be someone to pick me up should I fall down and can't get up . . . well that is IF I don't piss them off

I heard a report on the radio on the way back from Ensenada. It was warning of the lack of planning for the gizillions of baby boomers ( me included ) that will need care when we can't care for ourselves. They are afraid that there will not be enough care givers to handle the needs of all us BBers that will be in nursing homes or stuck at home.
I just find it interesting that it is expected that as we all get OLD that we will not be able to take care of ourselves. We are all expected to become ill, incontinent, brittle, develope alzheimers, diabetes, prostate cancer, etc.....
So, the new babies are passed off to strangers to feed and wipe their butts, so must the old people.
The day I can't wipe my own a$$ is the day the Boss has orders to take me out to the back 40 and put a bullet in me!
