Jacksonville man’s tractor allegedly stolen from Dover residence
By Laura Eppes
Reporter

Bill Folmar of Jacksonville didn’t know what he was getting into when he hired Travis G. Tomlinson, 43, to do some handy work.
According to a Pope County Sheriff Department’s report, Folmar hired Tomlinson to work at his weekend home on State Highway 7 North in Dover. He was allowed to stay at the home while he worked around the property.
According to the report, Tomlinson, employed by Folmar from February 2006 to August 2006 was arrested. Folmar believes during that time Tomlinson was bonded out of jail using Moye Bail Bonds. Folmar said he believes that Tomlinson lied to the bondsman and told them Folmar was his father, and used Folmar’s John Deere lawn tractor as collateral on the bond. Folmar learned this from the bonding agent, according to the report.
Folmar filed a previous report Jan. 29. According to the report, Moye Bail Bonds went to the Dover residence looking for Tomlinson and caused $100 damage to the front door.
Folmar spoke with the bonding agent a month ago and she said she would not take the mower.
According to the report, sometime during the early morning hours of March 13, someone took the mower from under a portable carport at the Dover home. Folmar called Moye Bail Bonds prior to calling the police and they said they did not take the mower. Folmar listed Tomlinson as a suspect because according to Folmar, he stole tools and miscellaneous items from him before.
