Several years ago, bail on serious crimes in and around my AO were fair and reasonable but still in line with the crime... recently the bonds are being set ridiculously low...

for example..... I have seen 2nd and 3rd offense DUI's.... which then usually classifies as an "Habitual Offender" being set at $1500 to $3500.... previously they were in the 10K and above range or often, "no bond".... I have even seen domestic violence cases and even malicious wounding charges get out on bonds under 5k.... MW used to be a "no bond" offense... I saw an arson charge set at $1000.... and have seen DUI's release on PR bonds...

Same with courts out here in many counties.

They have lowered the bail schedule on many charges but, they are also OR'ing many more people than they used to.
