Getting to know, trust, and network with each other is the primary purpose of being a member of the various forums that we are members of. Some don't care who they work with as long as the work is done, others are more careful to work with only those they know and trust to work legally. How we work is a personal reflection on ourselves.

For example, I have referred a couple of jobs to the general agent that I write under (not a member here) in the last few months. I know that she is legal, and the apprehensions were done in a legal manner and both parties were satisfied with the outcome. The most recent was for Robert Graff from Nebraska. I didn't have the time to work his file, but I referred him to Tracy, and she "got it done". The same sort of situation happened with another bondsman in Nevada where she contacted my primary BEA with a job that didn't meet my time limits, but I referred it to her and she delivered the defendant within the required time-frame.

In another instance, I referred a job to an agent that was qualified, but he wrongly trusted a company that he thought was legit and wasn't, so he got screwed. The bondsman got his skip, but the person and company that did it did it illegally. I won't use that company again.

This is an open forum, but most that join aren't immediately accepted by the majority until they prove themselves. Because it is an open forum, we have multiple members signing up on a daily basis. Some are legit, many are spammers. The spammers are the reason that the legit people are questioned. If you are asked to veryify yourself, it isn't personal. It is something that everyone has to provide as they are asked.

It's very simple. You either do so, or you don't.

Kathy,

Your subject matter was very well stated, and right on target. In this profession nothing should be taken at face value from an individual who has not been vetted. During so is a poor business practice.

I agree totally too Kathy....

These are the business practices and conditions that I prefer to work under myself. I'm not getting into this line of work for a fast buck ( it helps), but that's not the main reason, nor is the bond writing process, it is the internet hunt.....

Example:
I had a bail bondman email me, and he asked,"it I knew of anyone wanting to do a small job", well no, I thought to myself, being that I have no license, and cannot impersonate or act as a bail bondsman in my state with-out one, I relayed this very information to the nice fellow, and thank him for thinking of me.

You all have no idea how much information I've takin in from the short time spent in your forum, and thank all of you for that......even though I may not post as offen,it's because most of the time I'm reading and searching information topics related to my state exam.

All-In-All, good buisness practice makes for good relationships and partners.

Basically, it all comes down to vicarious liability. In both civil and criminal investigations, the Da's and the attorney's will "follow the money" to either charge as many people as possible or to sue as many people as possible...remember, politics and money go hand in hand.

Da's are politicians....and many of them have made it to the Governor's office through successful prosecution of criminals; Attorney's go after the "Deep Pockets" of any operation.

So as Bondspersons, Pi's, and BEA's we have to be extremely cautious with whom we deal with.
