First Thank you to all that replyed to mylast post ya ll was very helpfull....
so lest try a new one ! I am going to use all nonlethal wepons. Does any one have any advice on types besides tazer and mace ?????

Non-lethal projectiles such as rubber bullets and nets work well, or so I've been told, however I've never used them.

I've thought about using non-lethal weapons when I enter into the field.....and I do have a strong sense for mind-over-matter; to a certain degree.

I did at one time load the first round in my little .40... non-lethal, but one of my favorite gun shop owners talked me out of it with some simple advice... if you are responding to a deadly threat and you only have one shot.... do you want it to be rubber?? Compassion is fine, but if you have no chance to make the call... and you only have that one chance to respond in kind.... well, you decide.... if you have to fire on a situation that you determine to be non-lethal... you can always try for the kneecap.... that will generally stop most aggressive activity...

When you’re asking if you should use lethal to less-than-lethal in the field, right there you are in need of training. You can NOT start in this business wondering things of that nature. If you’re writing paper, then the person you are writing for needs to have you trained and certified according to your states laws. Unfortunately here in Alabama, anyone can be a “BOUNTY HUNTER”, but “THEY” will not work for me. I will take old and new employees to GA and TN to go through their continuing education classes to understand it’s not just about writing paper. And It doesn’t just end there. We put up our own money to be in business here. So how can any company let an excited newcomer in our business handle the responsibility of going to a person’s home without first watching and learning how to handle situations in the field? If you can’t watch how other people handle certain situations, how do you think you can handle those same situations? You would only have your own judgment if you have never experienced that certain situation before. Are you right, wrong or did you get lucky?
All I’m trying to say here, learn from this forum and others, take your courses, classes and get your certifications, but also learn from professional, well trained and experienced people to do what you have to do in order to make it in this business. Or for that matter, any business you’re ever in.

There is no such thing as a non-lethal-weapon. Do a search on here. What you are looking for is less-than-lethal. Different states have different laws, so you have to follow them.
