I have recently run across a great tool - Verbal Judo. If you have the chance get the books or go to a seminar - go for it. This is the stuff that will keep you out of trouble. Take a look.

Well since I have a law enforcement job outside of doing recoveries, I get all the special training compliments of my City of St. Louis employer. We get our training at the Eastern Missouri Police Academy.

Listen........HAAYYA........I'm pretty good.........KIIIYA..........at that verbal.........WHAAATTTTAAAA.........Judo stuff.

But seriously that's a good trait acquire and practice. You have to listen, learn what you should not say, make sure you are heard and be professional. You presence, appearance, and words alone can diffuse many problems. Communication is a key skill you should have.

No but I did save alot of the materials that were given to us. I think they pretty much use the same materials for each group of recruits fcoming into the academy and we get the same stuff they get. It was mostly black and white copies.

See, where I live there are ALOT of Bosnians. So the Arab, Muslim, and Sihk Protocol info really comes in handy around here. It is very disrespectful to say and do certain things to them and they can and will react in a hostile way. They also have certain items on there person or in their home that are considered very sacred to them and touching them or moving them could easily escilate the situation. Its pays to know more than just your own culture.
