We have a defendant out on bond from New Jersey located in Las Vegas. Bond has been forfeited and the BEA's who are also NJ Licensed Bail Agents working the case asked me about Nevada law regarding out of state bondsmen doing recovery work there. I have no experience in Nevada and could use some direction. I’ve called the DOI and they were of no help outside of explaining the requirements to obtain licensing. I’ve also called the LV Metro PD and Clark County Sheriff’s and it seems nobody will give me a straight answer. Can anyone offer me the best "how to" or advise?

Don,

I called my former employer in Ca. I also checked the state laws as wll as I could.

Here is what I was told: Nv. is a BEA regulated state; apprehensions have to be done by in-state, licensed agents.

Here is the name of the agent they use whenever they go there:

Joey Intiso
Gator Bail Bonds
81 W. Utah Avenue
Las Vegas, Nv.
702.438.5245

Some other suggestions he made:

1) Use the leo extradition process if NJ is willing to extradite

2) Sub the contract to the name above and have him put the skip on the plane (non-stop) and have your guys pick him up in NJ.

3) Send your team out there, contract the agent, have him do the actual arrest, then turn him over at the airport, state line, etc.

Hope all of this helps.

Take care and God Bless,

Ruffin

Don,

I just flew back from Las Vegas last night!
There is a college level course, I believe it is 120 hours, to facilitate a bail arrest in Nevada. Allot of these state laws refer to Bail Enforcement but do not refer to that Bondsman that wrote the bond, that has always been an "in" for me.
