Do a search on this forum for PI, private investigator, etc. Read all the posts. Most of your questions will be answered as they have been asked and responded to many times, in many ways.

You wil need the ability to land work. Remember that you are asking an attorney to place his reputation and client in your hands, very serious responsibility.

I don't know your area of operation or requirements to be a PI where you are. Some states have very stringent requirements to include up to 6000 hours of case management, while others are simply a business license.

Please consider www.pieducation.com you will benefit greatly.

Best of luck,

Scott

Good Insurance policy and make sure it covers the services that you provide. There are so many areas in the Private Investigative field that it would be hard to tell you about equipment as some fields do not require equipment and others you will need to have thousands of dollars worth of equipment
