Love the phone call I got!

A young man that's on this forum called me an hour or so ago and he was obviously excited. The conversation went something like this.

Bill, you know Bill Marx? Yea I know Bill. Man, you know what he says about talking people into turning themselves in really works. I said yea, no kidding, You really need to watch and read Bill's posts, there is a lot of knowledge there. Then he said, got to go, I'm picking one up now, I feel like I'm running a taxi service... LMAO!!

The absolute truth. I'm still laughing. I hope this young man will see this and respond.

Actually BOTH "Bills" know what they are talkin' bout ..

My Taxi Service arrest today went something like this..

Got to defendant's alleged address per the Deft's Mother ..

Called Local PD to advise them we needed 1 unit to "Stand By" ..

PD arrives.. I explain / brief the PO ..

We both drive down the street to target house..

M/B in car in front .. then another M/B in another vehicle in Driveway .. BOTH not our target .. I knock on door as my partner cleared both vehicles... another M/B opens the door.. not our guy either.. I ask him .. "where is Mike ?" he replies in the house sleeping and leads me into the house and points him out .. 2 other M/Bs sleeping on couches in living room ..

I notice 2 AK47's in each corner of living room .. Alert my partner and PO .. he calls for back up .. I see my defendant in bed .. sound asleep.. cuff one hand .. he starts to wake up .. I roll him over and cuff other hand.. have the guy that led me to my deft put the deft's pants on my deft ..got sneakers on him .. grabbed a shirt off the dresser, tossed it over his shoulder.. and out we went into my car .. PD arrives with more units .. they start running others in apt .. and find 2 others with Outstanding Warrants also .. they get arrested by PD ... and I leave with my guy in a matter of less than 3 minutes.. Case Closed.

Did I mention I HATE doing Pick Ups ! They suck, but its a necessary evil sometimes..

We went after this guy for a No Valid Drivers License .. Meanwhile he is wanted for FELONY Violation of Probation (2 warrants) and Another 3rd Felony Alias Capias Warrant ..

My question Jeff is about the AK-47's, since these were obliviously people with prior convictions, did they get charged with felon in possession or did those guns end up in private collections?

Well I am glad I can make my apprehensions enjoyable..

As for a TV Mini Series.. I ll pass.. I dont wanna be on TV .. I made the News and Newspapers way too many times with all my shootings in the PD.


As for Video though .. I recently got myself a "Go-Pro" camera and was actually going to use it on this recovery .. and didnt .. I am sorry .. but the next one I will bring it along for your video entertainment...

I normally dont post about my pickup's / arrests as there are so many that I would be posting all day and night on this site. I do post my "GOTCHA's" on my facebook in their own little album as a keep sake of my work. There are some that dont make it there as I am too busy to post them.

As for the 2 AK's .. I had already removed my guy from the house and he was a convicted Felon in possession of firearms since they were in the house "period", but wasnt charged for that.. I was gone from the target house as fast as possible. I dont linger around .. This apprehension was in an area called "MIAMI GARDENS, FL" it sounds beautiful right ? Nope .. its a war zone.. so make my arrest and vamoooose outta there with my defendant. I do believe the officer's on the scene were running the other names of the individuals at the house as I was driving away with my defendant.

Well the T.V. Thing was tongue n cheek. However, recording your apprehensions can not only cover your six but serve as a training tool for the less experienced.. Plus it can be down right fun...lol

I really am kicking myself for not video taping this one..

It went perfectly .. not to pat myself on the back or toot my own horn.. but there will be others I am sure of ..

As I try and do these recoveries safely and professionally always..

But the officer that responded was amazed at how we operated..

He said .." I have dealt with bondsman alot in this area and they are always azzholes, they kick in doors.. rough up people ..threaten people, show a huge aggressive use of force with AR15's and Shotguns.. but you two just knocked on the door .. walked in after speaking with the guy that answered the door.. went right to your guy .. cuffed him while he was still sleeping .. and got him dressed and walked him into the car without any problems."

I told the officer .. not every bail bondsman is not an azzhole...and thanked him and his co workers for the back up and drove away...

It's better late than never. I've talked with Bill M., Bill W., and Scott on and off for about 2 years now.

I did try some advice Bill M. put on here. Specifically the "Ride to Mc Donalds/Strawberry Shake" speech. I got 3 to surrender that day. One of them had been actively running since February. All together I netted a pretty substantial sum from the bonding company for them.

I have on numerous occasions, picked the brains of several members of this site and it has kept me educated on the laws, food on my table, and myself away from liabilities.

I only have people like yourselves to thank for that.
