Too many people have spare cuff keys..

It is a Felony to possess one in FLORIDA unless you are a licensed Security Guard or LEO or Bail Bondsman.

This is why I use these cuffs.. Nobody has this key .. nor can they be picked.

Thanks for the link Jason. Something to keep an eye on when performing searches. And Jeff, I do like those. Hope I'd never lose the key though,, lol.

Hey Jeff, who makes those handcuffs? It looks like the Smith & Wesson logo, but my eyes aren't what they used to be. I researched their offerings on www.handcuffwarehouse.com and I couldn't find anything with that type of cuff key, although I did find some "maximum/high-security" models.

These cuffs are made by S&W .. Model 94..

They are very old and discontinued.

They sell for now anywhere from $80 to $200 a piece if you can find them for sale on the private market..

Antiques..

Wow! Nice. Have you ever used a "black box?" Mine is an earlier model; which I bought whenever they used to be called the "blue box." Anyhow, they are a little less expensive than "maximum/high security" handcuffs. http://www.handcuffwarehouse.com/cs5thmoblbox.html

No I have never used these boxes that cover the cuffs.. never have had a problem with prisoners in the back seat.. YET..

plus I normally dont have them in the backk seat long enough for them to try and escape..or do something foolish.

Its usually less than a 15 minute - 30 minute ride back to the jail that the deft was bonded out of or we hand them over to a Police Officer so they can get a Statistic on their activity and I go later to drop a surrender form.
