Please take a moment at some point today to remember these victims and lift them and their community up in prayer.

We can also learn from this tragedy. If an experienced police officer can be ambushed during the performance of his duties, then so can the rest of us.

Like my drill sgts used to scream at us repeatedly: "stay alert, stay awake, stay alive."

The slain officer had 5 children. Perhaps we could take up a collection and send it to his family ? Help out with Christmas, bills, etc.Just an idea. Ex: If 50 of us sent in $100 each, that would be $5k for that family.

We could ask someone who lives close by to collect it, then send it in...maybe Bill M. ? Just an idea.

Our prayers and thoughts are with family and friends at this time.

Not a good memory for the kids this Xmas

God be with each and every one of them to help them cope.
