of course Seals carry whatever they choose... as this.. I think these are HK MP-5's ???

I can only speak for British SF but they carry MP5-K as standard issue.
Sig side arm.
But they also can get what ever they want.

Not sure what all the SEALs carry, now. I am sure, if it is made, someone carries it. Maybe because the other picture is small...I can't see a real difference except the add-on. The launcher isn't standard, though. I just looked (more like glanced) at the main body of the weapon. I don't get to carry any of this high tech stuff. I am stuck working with a sling shot and stick so I may not be used to the weapon enough to judge.

Would you please edit or delete all pictures and references to firearms that we poor stupid saps in California can not buy or possess?

I am getting pretty darn tired of reading about and seeing pictures of nice hardware with high capacity mags!

If this keeps up, I'm going to divorce the wife, leave the dogs and move eastward to a more sane state.

If nothing else put the "California" filter on these threads.

I have one almost identical to that M4 posted above. I dont have the grenade launcher, but the barrell is cut for it. I wish I could have one. I dont know the difference, but mine is called a MK5 instead of M4. And its a CMMG instead of Colt.

CMMG is building some fine ARs now. They hooked up with DPMS. You cant tell the difference. Or at least I cant. And you can get one set up pretty nice for about a grand.

Also, I got mine with a 22lr adapter. Its pretty cool. Just hinge it open, take the 5.56 bolt assembly out and stick in the 22lr bolt. Stick the 22lr magazine in and in less than a minute, you have switched from 5.56 to 22 rimfire.

Oh, and Weasel, I do feel for you. I couldnt stand living in the land of fruits and nuts. I dont know how you guys do it.

Sno: When I was in that was called an M-203. But that was a full sized M-16 A1 or A-2 with the Grenade launcher attached. I don't know what the actual M designator for this smaller, newer version is now.

Dominic: In 1991 I had the opportunity to purchase a H&K Mp 5 in either 9mm or .40 I think...could have been .45....for $500 straight from the factory. Regrettably I didn't do it.....naturally I wish I had now....

Andy: I've heard that DPMS's are good...never fooled with them at all, so I have no personal knowledge on them at all.

I finally got my FNAR308 Semi accessorized with 50 mm scope, bore sighted out to 300 meters, w/bipod. Still working on my Mini-14 Target....it's almost done...I have the bi-pod, MWG 90 rd drum, 50 mm scope...but the factory scope rings are too low...scope sets right down on top of the barrell. So I have to get a different set from Ruger to properly mount the scope. Once that's done, then I'll have it bore sighted out to 300 meters as well.

I don't know if any of you are familiar with a master leathersmith in Hi by the name of Leslie Tam. He custom makes competition leather slings for shooters from all over the world. His slings are hand made...inch by inch and his waiting list is app 4-6 months just for 1 sling.

I've had the pleasure and honour of speaking with Mr. Tam twice now regarding slings for both my Mini-14 and FNAR. They should be ready sometime in the early winter.

M4 Carbine is used as standard issue, now. Still shoots a 5.56x45mm shell, though, its just smaller in size. Handguns are now the M9 pistol which is a semiautomatic, magazine fed, recoil-operation, double-action weapon chambered for the 9-mm cartridge. It won a competition in the 1980s to replace the M1911A1 as the primary handgun of the U.S. military, beating out many other contenders. The standard issue knives are the M9 Bayonet and the Benchmade 9100 SBT.
