Yes I did open this subject for review and comment, and I would like to thank each of you for your insight on this critical issue. I have found that we can all learn something from each other when we take the time to listen and evaluate the answers or information provided by other professionals. Now with that said I am not sure that there is a right or wrong answer to my question I base this on my conversations with both the State Police and the State Attorney General.
What I do know is that for me personally I believe that it is best if I possess both the Pennsylvania LTCF and Act 235 certifications as relates to the mitigation of any civil and criminal liability related to during bail enforcement work in the state. Since the base of my business is investigative work and I am contemplating opening an office in the state the Act 235 certification is a must for me if I want to carry a firearm while working as a private detective. For the record I do in fact possess an active LTCF.
