The others that are mentioned by Ray, have given me the run around on being able to sign up, what my authority was, and how my business license is worded (it states that my business category is "Other"). I finally decided that two was enough and stopped trying. Thank you very much Jason Francis Surety Bail Bond Agent Ohio 440-813-0972 cell

RWB wrote: Like most databases, Skipsmasher has its pros and cons. But for the same price, if not cheaper, Findmyskip.com, in my opnion, is cheaper and better.
I use several databases. In my experience, no one database is a "catch all". By cross referencing intel from different sources, if a majority of them reflect the same intel or similar, then I know that's the accurate intel I need to help close a case out.
Naturally I try the free ones first, before using fee based sources. You might try some of these:
Argali.com, Zabasearch.com, entering phone numbers or peoples names in different search engines: Google, AOL, Lycos, Yahoo, MSN, etc.
Hope this helps. Take care and God Bless. Thank you for you time and Info Jason Francis Surety Bail Bond Agent Ohio 440-813-0972 cell

I especially like the saved searches option. It saves me money and I don't have to waste paper and ink printing out everything. I can pull it up on my laptop out in the field, etc. Try tracersinfo.com.
I am about to try Skipsmasher. Has anyone used them? I think Bubba has but he is in training today and I don't want to bother him. Those who have used Skipsmasher, please post what your experiences have been. Good or Bad?
Thanks, Thank you for your help Jason Francis Surety Bail Bond Agent Ohio 440-813-0972 cell

As was stated earlier, the best way to get a solid idea of the big picture is to cross-reference multiple sources of information.
I have used Merlin for quite some time and they are relatively decent in both cost and timely data. Great customer service and is operated by pre-pay accounts. A site inspection is required for upper-level account use (SSN releases, etc.)

I use IRB, SkipSmasher, FindMySkip, Bellescamp, and a couple other sources.
Ive posted this before. In my experience, they all have good and bad. You have to use multiple sources and decipher the BS for yourself.
It seems to me that IRB and FindMySkip, along with alot of the others will give you the same general info. Probably drawn from the same data bases. FMS has a little more info on bank headers and phones. SkipSmasher does better on phones, bank headers and a few other things. I usually end up running people through everything.
Just my experience.
As for cost, Im not a bea, its my cash on the line. A few extra bucks to locate someone that might cost me a few thousand, well, you get the idea......

Merlin is better suited for gathering info on the west coast. This is what I was told by a rep of Merlin, when I called.
There are several that don't pull nation wide info. Many are area or state specific. It depends on when, where, and how they get the info. No matter who you use, be sure to call them and ask about these types of things. Other wise, you may have a data search, pulling information from an East coast collective, when you and your skip are on the west coast.

You will probably find that most are running a bit behind on current addresses... especially since many of the folks we deal with "do not stay in the same place for long"............ that is why they are often difficult to locate... but knowing which database and cross referencing is the answer.

That's some great info Sno, I wasn't aware of that, they never mentioned it. I guess that's why it's worked pretty well for me then, most of my cases are west of Colorado.
