Welcome

Your Military Training will be an asset to you in Fugitive Recovery work, your affiliation with "US RECOVERY BUREAU" may be a drawback, I suggest you search this forum for posts concerning USRB and decide for yourself.

Best of luck to you, stay safe.

Agent 992 if you are working in New York at all better get yourself licensed or you will be the one going to jail--check out state laws at the top of this forum and click on ny-you will see you need to meet certian requirements such as a five hundred thousand dollar bond-- a backround check and an ny acepted bea course.This is all needed to be bea in ny-if your trainers disagree call the state licensing division they will tell you how to get you license--remember if you work unlicensed you can be arrested and charged with a crime.

Gee, could it be that another individual paid alot of money to attend a BEA course and NOT told they needed a license to work in that state? Amazing!

Steve i thought i better give agent 992 some real advise before he gets into a world of hurt-many people have contacted me saying they were told that they did not need a license to be a bea in license state ie texas , nh , ny--i tell them to get themselves educated by findind and speaking to local beas and checking the law directory at the top of the forum page-this kind of crap must stop schools need to answer for their incorrect info and the trouble they cause

This is agent 992, I know to work in New York you have to be a licensed Bail Enforcement Agent. I work out of N J, I would enter N Y if the fugitives is wanted by N J S and I would have propper documents

It seems US Recovery Bureau is still at it, we have had several discussions about them on this forum and others and I along with some other BEA's were banned from the USRB forum after calling out USRB instructors that were lieing to prospective students just to sell their class.

I'm not going to get into the whole lenghthy subject again I suggest you use the search feature on this forum to see what discussion took place about USRB, my opinion is that they are rip off artists out to con prospective students out of their money.

Becpa-I believe most of the pros are aware of the antics of usrb-the plain old lies and wrong info provided to their students ie state licensing-out of state licensing etc can cause major criminal charges to be pressed against the bea-many usrb students have said that they were taught that they could work in any state without special licenses is the skip came from their home state-----COMPLETE GARBAGE-----as stated many times before4 states do not allow bea and many more require state licensing--DO IT RIGHT OR DO NOT DO IT AT ALL--use your brains and check out each state on your own(law directory at top of page good place to start)if you screw up and pop somebody in a license state without a license you could be charged with kidnapping and other offenses--I am sure that the peope from usrb will not do the time for you-they will most likely forget your name

Hadley;
As always, EXCELLENT words of advice! But as I can see from this "Agent" (cough) follow up posting, he will not listen. Oh well.

I have also attempted to educate individuals about making recoveries here in Texas. Under current Texas state law, only licensed PIs (here in Texas) are authorized to re-arrest on a capias warrant. The skip must also be placed in custody in the county you find them in. This includes skips from out of state. You can not "grab & run" here.

Here on the Internet, I have had many individuals state, "I come to Texas all the time and grab skips. I have never had a problem." To those individuals I reply back, "You got lucky." In the past I have heard about some individuals who have conducted a "Grab & Run". I have contacted the families of the skip and told them they just hit the lotto! I have advised them "how" to file criminal charges against the BEAs and also how to sue the Bondsman who sent the BEAs.

On another group, someone posted, "When you break the Law to enforce the Law, there is no Law." If I were working in New York, I would be looking for wanna-be cop cars, with New Jeresy plates and writing down tag numbers. :)

Steve as i have said many times i believe in SHARE THE PIE i do not know texas and do not have contacts in texas(besides not being a pi) so how came i effectively hunt in texas?the answer in my opinion is i cannot so therefor i split the case with a local bea-the local makes a few bucks i make a few bucks and my bondsmen is happy and maybe i get some business from the texas bea(it is also cheaper for the bondsmen)--even if i want to be in on the pop i will meet the local bea and than make the arrest together
