This Bill is the exact same as the original that was the basis for PC 1299.

I am having a hard time getting it to load . . . Is it any better than the one
ones that is sunsetted ?

K. Got it to load, I see the 1299. blah blah blah . . . but my eyes are tired . . . been a long day. Gonna walk the furbabies, keep back, and watch lil boob tube

So is it the same as it was more or more or less stringent ?

Is this a proposal or actually slated for action and, if so, when?

I would like to see alittle more training, education and professional requirements but this would keep some of the dirt out of the bussiness. Good start though.

or is authorized by another state to transact and post bail and is in compliance with the provisions of Section 847.5 with respect to the arrest of a bail fugitive.

Holds a private investigator license issued by another state,
is authorized by the bail or depositor of bail to apprehend a bail
fugitive, and is in compliance with the provisions of Section 847.5
with respect to the arrest of a bail fugitive.

Has this always applied? I thought the old bill would not allow out of state bond or recovery people to operate in CA without CA licensed agents attached, sort of like Virginia... you can come in here but you must be accompanied by a licensed Virginia agent.

This bill was introduced by the CA Public Safety Chair, Tom Ammiano of San Francsico on Feb 23. It will be voted on in the PS committee first and then go to the full House before it goes to the Senate.

If it passes, it is then sent to the govcernor for his signature.

All CA agents should contact the PS Committe members and voice any suggestions. I for one will asked that the minimum age be raised to 21 from 18. I have a maturity issue with a 18 y/o working pickups.

Back in college, (I'm a trained medic), I remember some high school seniors who were taking courses at the tech school through PSEO programs... I heard one of them say that he wanted to "be a bounty hunter... only gotta be 18 and theres no rules..." kid thought he could get rich quick running around playing tough guy... thats not the business but thats what he thought it was.

Personally I thought some of them should've been made to wait a bit before being certified to work on an ambulance.
