I was wondering if anyone had any information on the bail bond recovery buisness in canada. Also, if there is no such thing for this country, can a Canadian get a working visa to be in the US as a bail bond recovery agent.
Thank you.

there is no such thing as bail enforcement agents in canada--it is handled by the police and rcmp--as far as doing it here you could not get a carry permit -many states require you to be a full time resident and there maybe other rules and regs i do not know about--besides most people that want do do this cannot get into the field

According to our immigration lawyer friend, to get a work visa you have to:
Have a employer stating that you have a job waiting and
That the employer could not find an American already here to do the same work.
If you are a IT engineer, you probably can come in under a HB1 visa tommorrow. They supposedly still have a shortage of them even after the dot com bust.

Well, I guess it's a good thing that there aren't too too many people ready to jump into this profession, so there may be a chance at acquiring the visa still. Thanks a lot for the quickness of the reply. I'll be looking into it more.
