Hello Group,
Its been a few years since I have been on here so I want to start off by saying hello to everyone on here I have had the pleasure working with or speaking with on here. I got out of the Bail Bond Industry back in September 2007 due to some personal issues I was having with my family and am now interested in getting back in the field. I owned Fugitive Recovery of Indiana and wrote for American Surety between 2003 and 2007. I have spoke with alot of Bondsman I know here in Indiana about how the industry has changed in the past few years and many here in Central Indiana ( Indianapolis) have told me they don't write as many as they used to due to some of the counties going to cash and/or XR bonds. I have a couple of Bondsman who have showed an interest in having me write for them, I am thinking that I may just do the Recovery part since I have heard it is still going strong. I wanted to ask the group, especially the ones here in Indiana, if they have seen a dramatic decrease in their bond writing over the past 3 years and how the recovery part of the job is.
Thanks in Advance,
Mark Mattingly

mark I see that you placed a post in the Items for Sale Section back in Feb 2011. At that time a couple of our members (mdbtyhtr and NYPD BLUE) asked you to make an Introduction. As I do not always read the For Sale stuff I missed it . . . I apologize for the delay . . . . Please Start Here viewtopic.php?f=30&t=12182

To answer the volumne question, nationwide bail written has dropped by up to 75% in some areas.
Personally I have seen a 50% drop since 2008.
