Post subject: Specific info on OH surety license reqs Posted: Mon 04 Apr 2011 07:51 |

I have a question about the surety bond agent licensing requirements (or rather disqualifiers) for Ohio. I have spent a great deal of time looking for an answer to this question to no avail. I'm concerned about the background check for this license. I have no arrests or convictions and my credit is decent but I was the defendant in a small claims civil lawsuit by a former landlord several years ago. I lost the case and paid the judgement. This public record is on my credit report and is, of course, accessible on my county clerk of courts website. Does anyone know if this will disqualify me from licensing? Also, when I say "decent" credit my score is between 697 and 723 depending on the bureau. Any input or thoughts would be extremely helpful. I do not want to spend the time and money of licensure to be denied a license. I'm awaiting a return call from the Dept. of Insurance as well. Just looking for some other input.
