Bravo Bill Marx, Sr.!!!!

You are the first guy since I posted that article all over the Internet that actually stepped up and asked, "What can I do? And the volunteered your time."

THAT is what is primarily missing... people with the fortitude to do less talking and more acting.

PBUS should be leading this fight, rather than writing about it, and giving us all concrete action plans and a single target, for the time being, on which to focus our efforts. A concerted, targeted approach focusing on small winnable battles- county by county, we could be effective. It will take a large contingency of us from each segment of the bail industry... bondsmen, surety companies, posting agents, recovery agents and LEO.

Without concrete direction and people willing to step up however and we have a lost cause on our hands.

Scott H.

Mr. Harrell,
There are many of us actively fighting this on local levels. The greater Washington Bail Bond Association has had a lobbyist retained for many years and this has kept us abreast of the attacks, focused on the response and proactive in a cohesive approach to saving our industry. Our lobbyist isn't cheap and his bill is covered by the 8 active members of the 182 licensed bondsmen in the 7th circuit of Southern Maryland. Therein lies the problem, people that are not willing to invest time or money into their own longevity, but willing to ride on the coat tails and purse strings of a few.

Scott

In a nut shell;

What ever is trying to be 'passed' is simply to destroy bail, PERIOD? Correct?

No compromise what so ever it seems. Correct me if I'm wrong.

And all of this in light of (Obviously...) the bad behavior/acts of BEA's (Some BB's..maybe?...)
whom are sighted in on by the media.

This is interesting because I have had a few conversations with some folks about what we can do to 'Self Police' the BEA community. What I say is, If I were to observe a fellow BEA committing a heinous act of violence or any action that results in a law being broken; I would contact LE or discuss the matter with whomever is with me and make a decision as to what should be done.

Really, that is the best I have. It is a shame that (From my perspective) all the bad light of some BEA's, overshadow the 'good/professional' job we here strive for.

I’m climbing off of the soap box now… lol
