Andrew, that is an interesting quote in your sig...

as to the StarTec... it was an innovative design and model that has stared in movies and been used by many since the mid 90's... I have been using LG's for years... I think cells are like guns or cars... just whatever blows your skirt up?.... I am still waiting for an answer on the pinging thing............ I always see where LE uses it to locate phones, etc.... I'm just not that high tec... I like grandmothers... they have always worked better, for me, than pinging to locate people.... 8)

.......... you knew I was gonna do this.............. Andrew... change the "their" to "there".... and deduct 5 points from your test score

I have tried that one in TX Jen......but I can't say for sure if it was accurate because by the time I got to the target location I didn't spot the perp....but that's what I get for trying it during the day. I would have tried late night or early morn, but they wanted to charge me double the price for "off peak hours."
I give them another try when I can throw the money away, but this time I'll do it with my number and really see if it'll work. Just don't tell them it's your number.......And if they don't give me the right location or at least close oh they'll here it.
Let us know if someone else decides to try so I don't have to throw my money away.

Shouldn't this be in another area. Not saying "they" don't know about it......I'm just saying............
I know sno that's your phrase just borrowing it.

We've tried various cell phone carriers with pretty much the same answer from all. The only way a carrier will do it is with a subpoena. I find it hard to believe that as tight as they are with the whole 'pinging' thing, that any other source would or could do it. I've talked to my old work buddies that are still in LE and they said it's a pile of paperwork and hassles even for them. I guess for now, I'll have to forget about the "ping", and work on the "sting"! 8)
