I have a question I'm hoping someone on here can answer for me. I'm interested in getting started in Recovery, but I have absolutely no idea where or how to proceed. Are there agencies to work for? Or is it a sort-of "solo" thing? I have law enforcement training and experience so I also don't know what further training I would need. If anyone could point me in the right direction or offer some tips I would sincerely appreciate it. Thank you.

Feel free to contact me with questions. I will answer those that I have answers for and get answers for those I don't.

I would also refer to you a topic entitled :"Entering the trade" found on this forum. It addesses some general steps you may wish to explore. Next I would direct you to the FAQ section and read it in its entirety. It will address many general questions. Questions regarding your specific state may be addressed here: http://www.gapb.org/then you should click on our law directory, Click on Ga. and you can get the state codes that pertain to your industry there. Next you shold then cross reference those codes against the newst annotated state code found here:http://www.lexis-nexis.com/hottopics/gacode/default.asp Conducting your own research as well as discussing what you read with fellow professionals is the best way to learn. You will remember more when you dig for things yourself as opposed to simply hearing the laws from a 3rd party.

RWB is correct. Find the answers, yourself, is more fulfilling and "imprints" the information better than if someone answers for you. This is why this forum is so important.....different opinions, different areas, different personalities, different ways of conducting business....one common goal; A Professional Industry.
