Hello,

I'm interested in taking as many courses as i possibly can that are related to Bail Enforcement. I live in WV and i found a link online to nabea.org and saw that they have training courses and are based out of VA.
This is the closest place i can find relevent to my location in Wv and i was wondering if this course is worth the $360 price tag or if it's bull manure. I want to learn as much as possible that i can out of this field and also possibly get some hands on training in the courses that i take.
On their website it doesn't say anything about what the course contents are? Has anyone taken this course and can possibly shed some light on what is included in the course?

Also if you know of any better schools or training seminars that may be geared more towards the hands on aspect of the field as well as much training on the laws, skip tracing, etc... please let me know, if i can find something that is somewhat close to my location i'm very interested and i'm not afraid to travel a little bit to get some good quality training behind me.

Thanks,
Steve Thompson

There is a list of referred courses in the FAQ heading on the forum. This one is on the list. Other than that, the author of the course is a member here, and I think several people in the east have taken it.

The price tag for the NABEA course doesn't seem half bad. Take into consideration that most Virginia DCJS certified training courses for BEA are in the 450 dollar range, and thats for some Joe Blow security school to read the code to you out of the book for 40 hours, run a handcuffing drill then give you a written test. Besides over the years I have only heard good things about Mel and his operation. So, personally I would jump at the 360 dollar price tag!

NABEA is 1 of the top BEA training schools in the country right now. You can also take some online courses through Compass Point (also on the list), as well as attending a NIBE seminar.

If you had all 3 of these certificates/training, you would/should be 1 of the best educated BEA's in your region.

Thank you all for your help!

I had planned on taking quite a few courses/seminars so that i can be as educated and trained as possible before trying to get into this field on my own. I will be going with another BEA in my area soon and can't wait to get involved.

Thanks again for the recommendation on NABEA, I was hoping they were credible.
