Police find fugitive felon in a clothes dryer
Friday, December 19, 2008
Sgt. Jerri Weary, CPD spokeswoman, says a man wanted in connection with a home invasion that occurred at 4417 Oakwood Drive on November 30th of this year has been arrested by Chattanooga Police Fugitive Investigators.
Ladarius Taylor was found at his mother's house on Stratton Place Drive here in Chattanooga. Police found Taylor hiding inside a dryer and placed him under arrest for outstanding warrants relative to the home invasion.
Sgt. Weary says on November 30, Taylor along with Terrance Rucker and MarShawn Harris forced their way into the home Oakwood Drive and pistol whipped one of the occupants. During the incident, Taylor fired at a victim but missed when he jumped behind some furniture.
Two of the three men were captured by a patrol officer as they fled the scene. Taylor, however, ran from the home in an opposite direction. He is currently at the Hamilton County Jail and was arrested for attempted murder, aggravated robbery, felony possession of a firearm, and criminal conspiracy.

We have found them in cupboards, crawlspaces, under piles of clothes and blankets in closets, under beds, between the mattress and box springs, and even inside the back of furniture. It's more a question of where they won't hide.

I have had 3 or 4 cases where a hole is cut out in the wall behind the fridge. So when my team comes a calling they pull out the fridge, fugitive gets IN the wall and they slide the fridge back before answering the door and very willingly give us consent to search.
