Padilla has looked like that in every show I've seen him in. That is his trademark look along with his black trench coat. He has been around forever and titles himself as the World Famous Bounty Hunter. He has done several National Geographic documentaries and he and his sidekick Rob Dick recently did a short series. Check for reruns as they show them periodically. Rob Dick is also working with Rex Venator in the bailspeak classes qualifying agents to work in CA.

You have a high profile person and his team working on a high profile case. I wish them the best of luck in getting to the truth of what happened.

I agree Kathy. Boy, the press is really putting him down....... ie: some of the analysis on Fox is running with that old crap.......... "bounty hunter/bail bondsmen" looking for air time......... well, so what... if it helps in the long run, good job... I have read a lot about this guy and always sort of thought he was in fact a little over the top but the trademark clothes are just that.... and besides, this guy is on TV and is also a showman........ as I might say, are all of us to some degree.... I mean, I wish Fox would interview me for whatever reason......... my son was interviewed while he was on a pickup one time in Virginia and in his case it was positive.

Were all looking for a little "air time"... it can be good for business.............. know what I mean Vern?

Rob Dick was just interviewed on Fox News and Sheppard was a real jerk to him. He cannot comprehend that we are innocent until proven guilty, that some people don't trust the police, and finally, we hold a right to not incriminate ourselves. All of these factors may play key parts in the case in question. Sheppard more or less stated that he was seeking publicity and would be interfering with the investigation. Dick asked him if "She was already in the punishment phase?" when pushed for why they were bailing her out.

Just as an outsider, what law enforcement have done so far has been fruitless. She may very well be guilty of something, to what degree, if at all, we don't know. If the judge did not want her to be released he could have held her with out bond. Holding someone in custody in perpetuity without a finding of guilt isn't right either. It is troubling because we all are concerned for a little girl that she seems not to be concerned for. She has not done anything to assist in her location and has clearly obstructed it. The baby may or may not be alive and the attorneys are defending the mother with anything they can, and not cooperating could inhibit the police from discovering damning evidence. The Grandmother appears by her actions to be knowledgeable of something more than she is leading on due to her "Qualified" statements.

What gets me is they are hammering Padilla and Dick as publicity seekers and they are doing the same thing! They are using the dramatization of the news story to sell advertising and be confrontational, even when there isn't any news or changes in the story. I like Fox News but I am getting tired of the pomposity they present the news with.

I certainly have a lot of faith in Padilla making some progress on this. He has a solid reputation and despite his hat, he knows how to find himself a skip. I happen to have mention of my hat in a recent article myself. 8) lol

My question is: What's with posting a $500,000 bond for free? That's gotta be a publicity move. I can't see any real benefit to throwing something like that out there. Although I'm sure I'm not the only one in the industry that is motivated by integrity and justice, I have a hard time believing that Padilla's motives are entirely un-selfish. There's gotta be a catch.

I have never said that there may or not be any financial or personal benefit to the players. I only spoke of the known reputation of the players.

Based on what I have seen, Padilla is an expert in his field, and also based on people that he is known to train and work with, I stand with him and them in hopefully finding an answer to this case. That's all I'm saying...

Oh I most definitely have faith in Padilla. And to be sure, if he pulls it off and is successful in this hunt, he will have earned every bit of publicity he receives. Even more important perhaps, will be the positive air that is brought to the bail and recovery industry if he is successful.

Should be an interesting one to follow! :D

It's sad that thease reporters know nothing about legal rights. They seem to be ready for the punisment stage all ready. Don't get me wrong this woman is no kind of mother but there is a process. Everyone here that does this knows what Paddilla is going to try to do. He will run as many jail house games on her and the family etc. as he can fit in to get information he needs. A quick profile of this women leads to any number of ways to go at her.

Smith might want to rethink harassing Padilla. He should probably kiss ass because he may be needing their services...
