Copyrighted material is generally the product of a person's hard work, expense and expertise in a given area. This may extend to photos, written works, videos & discs, and, possibly, seminar material.
Before copying, replicating, distributing or otherwise taking material for more than personal use, check to see if the material is copyrighted since written permission may be required to stay legal when offering things to other people who have not paid for copyrighted work.

Kevin Nichols and myself both ran into that situation with Robert Anderson using our copyrighted material without our knowledge and permission.

REX,
Thanks for that reminder. While it may seem like a no brainer, sometimes in an effort to help out a firend or co-worker we may innocently be tempted to pass along something that we have purchased to someone else as a good will gesture.
However well intentioned that may be, when we do that we are violating the authors copyright and taking revenue away from them. While passing something along in this manner is not done for personal financial gain by the person giving the material away, it can still be a violation of copyright laws (especially if the person giving maintains a copy for continured personal use). Please be mindful of others rights etc.
Now this situation is quite different from the one refered to by LAW where copyrighted material was being used by others as a source of material gain without compensation.
I didn't post this to preach but because I have caught myself wanting to do this to help someone out with some information but had remind myself to post a link to where the information was available for purchase and provide an accurate review of the material. Having previously been in the computer software industry this type of giving (referred to there as piracy was a common problem in that industry).
Hopefully this will help some others to understand that sharing information is not the issue but specifically sharing someone elses efforts without compensation. Many of the professional authors and suppliers of commercial information on this forum assist us with various forms of that same information here free of charge when we ask a question. However completely and accurately explaining the basis of an entire industry or even specific portion of any endeavor requires time and effort.
Thanks again for your time.

Yeah!
Larry you did a great job providing a synopsis of a rather simple and yet complicated concept.
Well Done, Sir.
