This idea came to me the other day while dsicussing this career with some interested parties. Perhaps this"discovery" is not new, but maybe it hasn't been penned to words before...I don't know.

So here is what I have:

Bounty Hunter = Entry level position. Works primarily as the back up person. Apprentices him/herself to a professional for training and mastering of the craft. Often works for free or nominal fee.

Bail Enforcement Agent = Level II. Performed back up duties professionally, assisted in some apprehensions, developed some leads, entering the next phase of running investigations, interviewing techniques, exonerating bonds through legal technicalities, attends schools, seminars; acquires required licenses/certificates. Developed relationships with other professionals within the CJ system. Pay is commiserate with skills and experience.

Liability Mitigation Professional = Level III of this field. Holds and maintains all required professional licenses, certificates of training from reputable industry related schools, etc. Mastered the practice of bail bond exoneration through a wide variety of accepted and legal practices, often sought out by others for expert testimony, guidance, advice, consulting; engages in public speaking events and authoring books and articles for publication.

Curious to know what other's think ?

I mean what is it we actually do ? Mitigate liability. When I first started out in this industry, that aspect was never clearly defined for me, nor did I have a full and complete understanding of this entire indsutry as I do now. I simply thought putting people back in jail was it. Now, we all know, it's alot more to it than just that.

Again, just my 2 cents worth.
