I just got a flyer from a company in Moore Ok, named Trackum. They are selling software to keep track of your bonds, ect....

Honestly, were dinosaurs. We keep track of everything the hard way. When we can keep track period. Its tough. I have been looking for something like this.

Has anyone heard of this company, good or bad? If not, are there any other recommended products out there?

Tracks bonds, written, discharged, forfeitures, ect....
Tracks payments
Tracks court dates
Tracks check ins
Stores client info with pic

$569, one time fee.

Any opinions?

Andy;

That sounds like a pretty good price. We use Bond Tracker, which does all of the items you listed. I think we paid $1500.00 per computer to be licensed and networked together.

I can not fathom any bail bond company that does not use a computer bail program, to keep track of their clients. This is a valuable tool, especially the weekly check-in reports.

In our office, we require our clients to call in weekly. We have Caller ID. When a client calls in, we will log the number they are calling from. We then ask them, "What number are you calling from?" We want to see if they are being honest with us. Many times we have gotten the jump on a possible FTA, because they have lied to us. For example; Joe Dirtbag calls in with his weekly check-in. Caller ID shows he is calling from (504) 555-5555. We ask, "And where are you calling from today?" and he replies, "Oh, I'm at home. The number here is (409) 555-5555." Now we have a problem. Joe Dirtbag's home phone is (409) 555-5555, but he is calling from another state. Why did he lie to us?

Keeping track of the phone numbers is also a valuable tool, when chasing an FTA. People are creatures of habit. Many times I have located a skip quickly, by calling the numbers they have checked in from in the past.

Scott H also has a manuel that goes into great detail about this very topic. It is a must read!
