Prince Edward County, VA—A suspect in a Prince Edward County home invasion remains on the loose Monday, after police say a homeowner shot at three people, killing two of them, as they broke into his home Sunday.

Police responded to an emergency call, in which the caller stated that three individuals entered his home, armed with weapons. The called told police he exchanged gunfire with the suspects.

When police arrived, two suspects who had been shot were pronounced dead at the scene; the third suspect fled on foot.

The right lane of Route 460 east was closed Sunday afternoon, as Virginia State Police assist Prince Edward County officers in searching for the escaped suspect.

It is believed that the suspect, described only as a black male, got into a vehicle on Route 460.

The bodies of the two deceased suspects were transported to the medical examiner's office in Richmond for identification and cause of death.


... guess they picked the wrong house.................. guess it was a good thing that this homeowner had not given up his guns.... what do you think would have happened if he had only the 911 phone call to protect him.... also.... wonder if he was a liberal Democrat.... ???

This story has not been mainstreamed by the anti-gun media because it runs afoul of their gun grabbing agenda... :shock:

The man that took these two intruders out was only 25 yrs. old... had his son in the house... there were actually shots exchanged... he reacted quickly... I do not know all the particulars on this case but it happened in my neck of the woods... I don't believe there were any charges placed on this man and the local TV station had one intruder inside the house (dead) the second made it to the front yard (dead) and the third supposedly got into a vehicle and took off... may have been wounded.... this was in our local paper; Kenbridge/Victoria Dispatch... a small town paper, then went on the Richmond news but as you have already noticed... is not being reported outside this area... as far as I can tell....

I sent it to the NRA this afternoon.... to the "Armed Citizen" section they have in their monthly mag.
