Post subject:  Why 3am??????????????

Why is it that someone gets arrested at 10 or so in the morning and the family waits until midnight or 2 or 3am before they call a bondsman... "we just have to get him out now... can't wait till morning"...

I am heading to the jail at midnight tonight... the guy was arrested at 2 this afternoon, but can't wait till morning... oh well, that is why I never turn my phone off................ let the rest of the bondsman go to bed... I will take all the late nite stuff and run with it...............  8)

Happens all the time Bill ... the other night guy was arrested 12/23/13 $5000 bond... and NOW at 1am they want to bail him out .. guess the time they call is when they finally get the cash together for the bond... your guess is as good as mine.. like you said ..its money .. unfortunately we can not pick the times we have to make it ..

Most of the time it is the family trying to get the money together.

But occasionally they want to wait until late at night to try and catch the bail agent when they are less likely to be able to verify information such as work, property values, etc.

I had a call couple months ago @ 2:30 AM. A Woman wanted to bail out a "friend" who had a $100K plus bail. She wanted to use property in Southern California as collateral. It was a condo.

The guy was in custody for several months and his bail was lower in court earlier that day. So she wanted him out now.

When I ran the property it showed several liens and not even in her name. She swore that it was clear and had the paperwork to prove it. I told her that I could not do anything until I talked with the bank and county recorders office in the morning to verify the status of the property.

You guessed it, she continued to call around until she found someone that would do it on blind faith.

Oh, and she said she had the fee all in cash. I guess it is some ones else's headache now.
