I know local agents have been working on defeating this and other Bills since last year. They include Christina Brigandi, a NABBI member, that spear headed the opposition.
But it appears that it doesn't hurt to have celebrities also bring attention to the negative impact the legislation will have on public safety.

Yeah Tony. I don't think the Chapmans can make any changes without some serious backing from others. They may feel like they are a one man/woman show but I don't think so for a minute!

I will say though, the politicians do seem to listen when Mrs Chapman does come and speak at those hearings. They seem to pay more attention to someone with a famous name than just the average bail agent.
Celebrity does has its advantages.
