Yak,

With all of the bh's in the NE area, shouldn't be a problem finding a few to ride with both of you. I wish Hadley were still around for this...this was 1 of his goals from way back when.

I have a 91 Mazda Miata and can fit me and maybe a shapely blonde...I would be willing to drive instead of fly and with my Saturn, can comfortably fit 5, squeeze 8, to carpool from the Washington metro area. Great idea Ruffin. Hotel room, I want my own, some stories cant be told!

Scott

Me and my blonde would share the fuel cost.....lol.... but I am like you got to have my own room! Besides you know what its like to share a bathroom with a blonde!

If we get a lot of attendess, over 50, we will probably be able to get the registration cost of the conference very low less than $50.

However, transportation and room costs is on the attendees. So carpooling, hitchhiking, stowaway, carjacking, hijacking and bicycling are options to use at your own risk.

My fiance and I will be driving from Nebraska in her Van. We can volunteer the vehicle and our time if needed.

in the process of buying a Bar / Restaurant

Would you care for a bit of advice on the bar/restaurant thing.... been there, done that... not in Miami, but their all the same... trust me... it's a lot of fun for about the first 6 months... even if you get someone to run it for you... never, never be any further away than the back door, the cash register, or the liquor/beer cabinet... and regardless of how good looking your waitresses are... never trust any of them and "don't let the smiles fool ya... take my advice, their only tryin' to screw ya..." (originally by the 'Temptations', recorded by the 'Undisputed Truth') ... hire a very qualified bouncer, probably two or three if your bar is large enough... and as mentioned above.... you may find that you are doing enough business to hire a full time manager but stay close anyway.... and that's good advice....

I am pretty sure you have been up to Ft. Lauderdale... Las Olas and A1A.... check out the "Elbo Room"... been there over 50 years... used to be a bar upstairs too.... "Crazy Gregs"... not sure about upstairs now... anyway... I worked there in the mid 60's... learned a lot... sort of.... back when there really was a "Porky's"... and a "Sugar Shack".... yep... llllloooooonnnnnnnnggggggg time ago.

Good luck.... actually, I envy you... I remember the good times, not the bad times.... 8)

Scott, if you are so inclined... I would just as soon ride with you and share expenses and driving... I think driving a shared vehicle would save a little and I could also carry some "Pie" with us... which we would lock in the trunk since we may not get past Beckley if we got into that............ might be fun... maybe pick up more along the way... a distinct possibility? To bad you sold your big bus.... think about it.

You could also get some "coasters" made up with the name of your Bail Bond Company and your business phone number. That's not my own idea, but I like it just the same.
