NABBI will hold its 2014 Annual Conference on April 13, 14 and 15, 2014. We will be hosting it at the beautiful Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel.

http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/virgin ... index.html

That's in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

We have a limited number of rooms at a group rate for Monday and Sunday nights.

I would highly recommend anyone planning to attend to make their room reservations early. Normal room rates are $229 per night. We are getting them for $139.

To make reservations use this number only: 1-800-445-8667 (1-800-HILTONS). You must give them group code - National Association of Bail Bond Investigators.

Sunday night will be a reception with seminars on Monday and Tuesday. A full program schedule will be posted as soon as we finalize all the classes.

I can think of nothing we would enjoy more... Gail and Drozz will get along fine... I am not so sure you and I will fare as well with them together....

.... You all can have one of the guest bedrooms.... connecting bath and all the amenities... including glass in the windows and running water... of course... Lucy and Lucky may want to sleep in the room with you but I will make sure they have been bathed and powdered prior to your visit... they always feel they have to welcome everyone...

PS... the front bedroom has my great grandmothers original antique brass bed but it squeaks... I would recommend the center bedroom...

If Scott and Belinda should show up... they can have the front bedroom.... a squeaky bed never bothered Scott... at least, that is what he told me.............

I will have to order several more .... containers of...... 8)

One advantage of spending time with us.... you will not have to rent a car because we will bring you home and to the airport.... almost as cheap as the taxi.......................

Bill,

Thanks for the offer and we have no problem sleeping with furry four legged creatures. We have four of them and at least 2 wants to sleep in the bed with us every night.

The Boss has to arrange her scheduled for a few extra days, so as soon as she get the ok, we will let you know.

On another note, for those planning on attending the conference, do you have any recommendations for programs you would like to see presented?

Let me know.

Ideas for our NABBI 2014 Conference.

1. IDPA rep could come and give a presentation on the training and fun involved with this organization
2. NRA rep could be invited to discuss weapons and their involvement in our industry
3. A knowledgeable member of NABBI could give a presentation on his/her thoughts on concealed carry, type of firearms, pros and cons of concealed carry and other related topics of interest.
4. Virginia is a pro gun state and there are many members of NABBI that resided in and around Virginia who could discuss these topics.
5. Taser certification seminars, training, etc.
6. There are a number of very good ranges around VA Bch and some of the members who are in this area could take members to the range if that is something that would interest them.
7. Self defense and related topics could be discussed.
8. Approaching and apprehending fugitives, proper techniques
9. Handcuff procedures

Image and attitude along with bonding techniques have already been involved and probably do not need to be presented again.

I am pretty sure that Matt Arnold could locate and set up most of what I have mentioned and in fact, while I do not profess to be an expert in these fields, I have a bit over 50 years as an avid gun collector and I do belong to several organizations that I could possibly bring to the table for training purposes. If Bill Williams and Scott MacLean along with Gene Lucy and others would attend, we could have some very professional presentations involved in next years conference.

Any ideas folks.......... jump right in.

Bill, Lucy is your dog, Gene's last name is Lacy...Just saying! He is also a VA DCJS Instructor.

I will volunteer to do a presentation on investigations or what ever you guys want, just give me time to write it.

What about having a Magistrate or a rep from DCJS to come and see what we do?

It would be a great idea to invite any local magistrate or law enforcement official to attend. I would also include any public defender or prosecutor.

In Long Beach we had a detective form the LB sheriffs office who is probably the most bail knowledgeable LE officer in California and a big supporter of private bail.

While I am at it, maybe think about local business owners or politicians. We need to educate the as many of the public as possible as out the benefits of private bail and fugitive recovery.
