If, what is alleged is true... or even partially true, as it appears... This agency and those involved need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent... ... this is a prime example of why we are in the shape we are in... as an industry... Yahoos like this............... ... and I note that it was all over a $1000. bond???????????????????????????? Totally ridiculous.............. obviously, these so called bondsmen do not have a clue... I cannot figure how they even got past the legal requirements to be bondsmen....?????????????? |

I know most of you probably agree, especially Karma, if someone tries to take or harm one of my dogs, there would be a blood bath. Contrary to state law here is CA, I always have something at the ready to handle such a situation. |

Bill is correct . . . we don't have to worry about the Courts and Legislators putting us out of business . . . Askholes like this will take care of it. We, as an Industry, have got to put a stop to IDIOTs getting in. Simple as that. Maybe a Pysch Eval should become part of the Pre-Testing Requirements . . . SOMETHING has to happen ! |

Successful completion of a psychological examination is prerequisite to earning a Nevada Bail Enforcement Agent license. |

It should be a requirement . . . period. There would still be some jacklegs (male and female) get thru, just as there is in Law Enforcement . . . but it would help weed out some . . . we have got to do something. |

I don't recall... I had already earned my Nevada Bail Enforcement Agent license whenever I obtained my Nevada Bail Agent license so I may have been exempt because of that, if it was indeed required. |

Sureties could put an end to this very easily. But they rather sign up any agent that can put money in their pocket. I have seen some very respectable sureties, put on agents that they absolutely know are doing unethical and very often illegal things. Yet, they turn a blind eye as long as they are able to collect commissions from them. But a more troubling trend is some large corporate bail agencies are becoming their own surety. They print their own paper and don't have to answer to a surety. That also means that they can charge as little premium as they want. How can I or other independents that have to pay 7, 8, 10% or more to our surety, when these companies don't have that expense, compete. They also don't have to pay into a BUF account. If this continues, the corporate agencies will drive the independents out of business real quick! |

I think you hit the nail on the head Tony. Some of what is going on is a drive towards making the industry so cumbersome that the small independents can't make it anymore, leaving the Lions share for the big corporates. |
