Eric,
I have to agree WOW,But the best part was the comments at the bottom of the article some genius thinks that letting the state of washington handle the bail, "uh duh it would provide more revenue for the state if they handled it and got rid of the bondsman, They did it in Oregon and it works fine", The last I checked Oregon was debating on whether or not reinstate the Bail so apperently the state funding the bail and making revenue didn't work there and it sure didn't work in the city of Brotherly Love, correct me if I'm wrong but Philly was what $6 -$7 million in debt for releasing people on bail and then they FTA'd never to be caught some dating back to the 70's. Some people just don't have a clue.

The State of Oregon, last I heard, had already stated they were going to reinstate the Bail Bonds Industry. Their biggest concerns were the regulations to impose. Initially they were going to adopt Washington regulations, but only allowing a selected amount of bondsman and regulated Recovery Agents to work in Oregon. Since then, they have been tossing around Washington, California, and Nevada laws and arranging the laws to best fit their state. Until they figure what their plans are and the State passes the legislature, everything is hearsay. But I would like them to get something into place. It's been about three years since the plan to reinstate our industry.

YES! that is messed up, as a tax payer myself I disagree with allowing this. As a Bondsman we can not track the cash and where it comes from. Another way the working man is screwed while the welfare people are living it up.

I'm bloody shocked this sort of thing is happening. I was under the impression these EBT cards were for food only. One would think there would be a way to clamp down on this. The problem is once the money is given to the welfare recipient there is little that can be done about what they do with the funds.
