Yikes, we've had these discussions before! Definitely NOT the kind of "cowboy" I ever want to be associated with! Of course, we don't have the whole story, he could have had a gun and threatened them, he could have shot first, or maybe not? |

hmm agents out of missouri huh? maybe it could have been prevented with a little networking!! Im just saying seeing as this happened in my AO.We have enough "cowboys" here already,we dont need any coming from outside the state and making us look bad!! Youre right we dont know the whole story but in thier own words they stated that the man ran and thats when they fired the"warning shot" how the story read to me was they fired before the man supposedly brandished a weapon. Now the whole "warning shot" thing has been covered here and also should have been covered in these peoples handgun carry class.you just do not fire warning shots,PERIOD.maybe with the threat of the man using a firearm on the agents I would have weapon drawn or ready to unholster but definately would not have fired a "warning" shot especially if the man was running away. Were did the round go? did it fall from the sky into a home nearby? or a vehicle passing by? that round will come down at some point and there is no telling what will be underneath it when it does. |

This is exactly the image I have been fighting to change in our state and with guys like that out there it is virtually impossible. Most of the Bondsman out here in Colorado are doing the recovery them selves because of so many bad experiences ! I was involved in an incident myself when i first got into the business with a "cowboy" agent who was going to tase a 50 year old man standing in front of 4 children who was posing no threat to anyone. I had to stand in front of the taser to stop the incident. |
