Bounty hunter makes most-wanted list in southeast Kansas

COLUMBUS, Kan. | A southeast Kansas sheriff's department has placed an Oklahoma bounty hunter on its Most Wanted list after he failed to show up for a court appearance.

The Joplin Globe reported that the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department has issued an arrest warrant for Gregory Alex Sawin.

The 34-year-old Vinita, Okla., man failed to appear in court last month on misdemeanor charges of criminal restraint, assault and impersonating police.

Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves says Sawin entered the wrong house near Baxter Springs last June 28 and detained a male resident while the house was searched. The police impersonation charge alleges Sawin was wearing what Groves described as a tactical vest with the word “police” printed on it.

Have a good day all.

Thank you LuVonda and i will do my best not to lose your favor, but i am sure i will show some ignorance of my own in the future.Which i have already learned that it will be set straight by the more experienced people on here and that is just fine by me because i believe knowledge is power and i can take the criticism especially if im wrong.

After watchin the two videos I saw, I wouldnt be a bit surprised if they arent acquainted.

Restraining people who they have no hold over seems to be the "Boys" M.O. Blocking in vehicles and opening the door knowing full well your skip isnt in there. Shoving a guy against the wall and patting him down while you put the cuffs on his girlfriend. All in a days work. LMAO

You know, I have been thinkin hard on this, and I dont understand how this guys in trouble? According to BB15, it is perfectly fine in OK to detain those that are on the scene to insure your safety. You can also pat them down. And, by looking on their website, you can even search and retrieve drugs. Damn, OK is a great state to work in!!

I dont understand how this guy got into trouble? He should have hired BB15 to be an expert witness. He would have explained all of this to the jury and there would be no problem!
