I was just checking the memberlist and see where over 60 people have signed up in the last 30 days. Out of these only about 12 have made any posts and those only 1-3.

There are over 1200 registered members and 90% of these have never posted anything. From what I can see only a very few people are even active here. What's the deal? Guess the newbies and wannabes can't hang.

I have been a member of this board for a couple of years now. Since I have only had my license for about 2 years, I still consider myself to be a "newbie", and without a lot of practical experience under my belt, I feel more comfortable just learning from the experienced professionals who frequently post here.

After twenty years of working in radio and television, I now work full time in security and investigations and do my recovery work on the side. In addition to my fugitive recovery work, I am also working toward getting my P.I. license.

BTW, don't ask what televsion network I worked for. Let's just say it involves a lot of garish sets, men often in white suits, and a lady with pink hair. When asked about my resume, I usually lie and say I did something more honorable, such as playing piano in a brothel.

Kathy, I think that a lot of the people that signed on and, do not participate signed on for a lot of different reasons. We have had a few media people sign on just to watch and see what goes on. We have had fans of other well known if not well respected BEA's sign on just to watch posts of their hero. We have had fans of this BEA sign on under many many different names and make one post to make people angry. We have also had many people sign on just to have people divert to their perverted web sites.

It has been asked and not answered as to being able to clean up the member list because of some of the reasons I just listed.

Kevin  . Now my interest is piqued. I have only been doing BE for a little over 2 years and writing bonds for 8 months. I am a newbie, but still share what I have learned when I can. Besides, I'm very opinionated so have to put my .02 in. I joined here to learn from the experts and avidly read everything I can. I have seen you participating so I know you are out there :) .

Robert, I think you are probably right, and that is what my comments were geared towards. The inactives need to be removed, and by inactives, I'm talking about the ones that never log in anymore. It just seems a waste to have so many members that don't participate in the discussions.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone who is legitimately "lurking" around. At least I got some responses  .

I have noticed that as well...

Bob, you asked me about this? Hmmm... You probably did but you know me I get sidetracked so easily! Ha Ha.

Anyway, what I will do is send a mass-email to all members, asking them to please post in a Special Topic - I'll call it "Roll Call"

This way we can determine those members that desire to be apart of our network and those that have decided for whatever reason not to participate. Those that do not post within one week will have their membership priviledges removed.

Does that sound fair? Feedback from all is appreciated!

Bob, BTW - I'll get to updating your website this week... Sorry been busy.

Phill that sounds like a very good idea to me. Sometimes 1 week might not be enough, like myself I will be missing for more than a week doing work and many others in our field might be in the same position. You might want to consider giving 2 weeks or more for a response.

On my Web Site that will be great, I am off to a Sheriif's Conventiion today and plan to hand out fliers and I do have my web site listed in the fliers.

Thanks Phill

Post subject:  UPDATE

Okay I believe I provided enough time for members to either activate their accounts or at least make a post.

I have deleted all forum memberships that
1) Had not yet activated.
2) Have not made at least one post.

Now the count shows 379 members. This is all members who are activated and made at least one post.

That number isn't great but at least we know it is accurate now.

Also, I have noticed thanks to a couple members - that there were people joining just to put a link to their website. I don't mind that as much as the fact that the majority of these were inappropriate sites!

If any member notices this or an inappropriate post please PM or email me.

Many thanx,
