Does any know if there is a federal prison website that i can access to check on the status of a federal prisoner? Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance |

Kathy used this site before--it does not give prisoners being held by fed marshalls for transport--need to find bad guy we popped in cal and gave to fed on extradition back to nh already approx 30 days and holding up substantial sum of money(my percentage on bond)-court will not hear case on returning bond until bad guy gets here |

Hadley, you know my background, so I feel I can give some honest advice on this matter. The U.S. Marshalls rarely expedite a prisoner transfer unless it is a MAJOR case. When they have somone in custody that must be transported, they notify the proper authorities that the person is in custody and that they will transport by a certain date. So, if the skip is in Cali, going to NH, they wait until they have enough prisoners in that area to warrant a transfer. Then the USM van drives from County Jail to County Jail, picks them up and begins the process. If they take ConAir, there may be several stops across the nation. Each stop could possibly take a day or two. In that case, the prisoners are herded to a local or state facility until they are ready to fly again. The Feds also use this technique to "control" troublesome prisoners. It is known as being put on the "Bus". The inmate is being constantly transferred from County to County and State to State. The net result is no visits, no canteen, no mail, very little recreation time and basically very little human contact or free time. It can take weeks for their mail and personal property to catch up with them. Kind of like Solitary Confinement on the road. I learned this from the USM years back when my Dept. had to augment the Boston Marshalls. The Boston Office did not have enough manpower nor were there any available County or State beds available. We had to baby sit Steve "The Rifleman" Flemmi and 1 or 2 other players in the Boston Mob at the old Federal Courthouse in Boston. Also, the Marshalls are EXTREMELY closed mouth about who they have in transport. They only way to find out something would be to have a highly placed LEO friend contact them. They MAY give him/her an ETA, but not a current location. Or you can try contacting the Dept. that has/had custody in CA to see if he has been picked up for transport yet. The BOP website does not give information regarding transfering state prisoners. Even with a federal prisoner being transfered they only list that person as being "in transit". I've mentioned this several times in the past but I guess only a few pay attention. |

If the prisoner is being transferred from CA to NH by the USMS then chances are he is at FTC Oklahoma City, this is the central hub transfer center for most prisoners being transferred by the Marshal's Airlift, the facility is on the grounds of the Oklahoma City Airport and the Marshals Plane debaords prisoners directly into the facility, I suggest you call the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City to see if they will confirm he is there. |

The FTC is on the edge of the Will Rogers Airport. I used to go by there twice a day for three months when I was in Oklahoma City on contract. |

I did not realize that the prisoner was in transit when I suggested the BOP website. It is very difficult to track a prisoner in transit because they don't want any complications on the way. On occasion we have been told when they were picked up and even rarer an ETA but these were local cases, not federal. And only then because I have a good rapor with the LE who knew I was waiting for them. Otherwise it was calling every day to see if they were here. Kathy |

I know about the boc website--the problem is that my skip is a not considered a fed prisoner he is an extradition from ca to nh- i am trying to get an idea when he will arrive here--lots of money riding on his nasty head--he has already left the ftc and is in transit -G-d only knows where he is now and when he will arrive here most of us know how it feels when we have money dangling in front of our faces just out of reach-people tell me patience is a virtue(it sure is one i do not have) |
