The news is referring to him as a bounty hunter rather than bondsman.. You have to wonder what actually happened to this toddler. Jenifer Story posted below. http://www.wesh.com/news/17113783/detail.html Sacramento-based bail bondsman and bounty hunter Leonard Padilla said his nephew, Tony Padilla, will post Casey Anthony's $500,000 bond on Monday. |

I think so too. I absolutely cannot see a mother not reporting a missing child immediately. Where were the grandparents that the mother and child lived with all this time? Didn't they realize that something was wrong? The whole thing makes no sense. |

I have to go with Kathy on this..what mother would not report her child missing.. I still think the family knows more than what they're saying. |

Leonard Padilla is a Bounty Hunter (with a law degree no less) his nephew is the bondsman. Fox news slammed them and all Bounty Hunters, not surprised. I believe that Mr. Padilla will get to the bottom of this case. Personally, I believe the baby is gone and there is no body to recover. I believe that Grandma is well aware of what has happened and is covering it up so she doesn't lose her baby to life in prison. Grandpa was a Deputy, so he knows the likelihood is slim to get a conviction without the body. (look at the Peterson case, that guy has gotten away with murder several times). Contrary to what the newscasters proffered, staying in jail has not motivated this Psychopath to crack and give up the truth. So staying in jail any longer isn't going to change anything. Padilla's agreement is that one of their people will be with her 24/7 and that is when he will get her to crack. What they have done so far has been fruitless. Out of the box thinking from one of the best in our business will accomplish far more. I wish the news people could get off their high horses once in awhile and comprehend that without success, we don't get paid, and we ain't starving! We are a diverse bunch of PROFESSIONALS, with varied and distinct skill sets, education and experiences. We work in the shadows and quietly, and everyone else receives the credit for our work product...and we are good with it. Make us proud, Mr. Padilla! Scott |

I don't know the particulars about posting in FL but in VA... if he is a property bondsman he could do it by just signing the recogizance and no money would change hands although he is on the hook for the bond... if he is surety... he would have to post a Power of Attorney on the bond and that would require a premium to the company he writes under and even if he has a damn good contract... say 95+% or higher (which he certainly would have) ... he still would have to come up with several thousand or so to post the bond... unless of course the ins. co. he writes for... and he also... is doing it for the publicity... in which case they may waive the premium from the bondsman. 10AM EST.... I am looking at Padilla right now on Fox News, he is in FL now................. looks really professional in his black hat ............. 10am Monday EST. He also has a TV show, I guess in CA... IMHO he did a pretty good job in the interview.... other than the cowboy look he did fine with the interview. I may even adjust my opinion........ after all, who am I to judge... he obviously "seems" to be doing his job......... and his nephew is a licensed bondsman so I wish them luck........ Hope he and his nephew the bail bondsman can find something................ |

Some of us do look like "cowboys" but if you can get past the "look" and judge by actions and words... things often times are fine. Although I know who this fellow is, and have read a couple of articles on him... I still immediately judged him by the "look"... black hat and black clothes.... rather than giving him a chance to speak... however, after I watched the interview, I decided that he offered much more than appeared and as Scott said.. he does have a law degree (which I did not know initially) So, base opinions on the whole package not just the initial look.............. thanks for the info Scott. |

EASY BIG FELLA....... I was born in Texas, lived there for years... and owned horses and my dad was a vet who worked with a "Stetson" for 40 years... it ain't the hat... it's the look and actions and the total package that counts............ "Cowboy is the adjective that we use often in our description of "Yahoo" Wanna beees in this business.... don't take it personal... we ain't puttin' down cowboys... hell, I guess I can be considered a cowboy toooo since I hail from Texas.... just words ole son........ not intended to offend... just describe......... we can use "Yahoo's" instead.. |

I think your taking it the wrong way........but then again your a cowboy. Seriously though when you read cowboy this and cowboy that it's not referring to the actual literal term of cowboy. So I think you should come down off your high horse and take it easy. You beat me to the post speezack, but I'll post it anyway |
