Hey Everyone, I just wanted to say thanks for all the help and advice you guys offer here on the site. I was running into some issues recently on a NJ skip with phone traces and addresses. We have been tracking this guy for a month. We finally were able to crack one of the numbers that led back to his cousin. We went to the house on Monday night and they had recently received a letter from the skip ( a few days old). He indicated on the letter that he didn't want to tell them where he was because he was afraid they would snitch. Little did he know he made a simple mistake of having a postmark on the envelope which was a Manhattan zip. We tracked him to a homeless shelter yesterday in Manhattan and we took him into custody. Port Authority Police were very professional and helpful once we took the skip into custody. To add, this was our first independant case. We have rode with people and worked cases with others, but we were successful on our first real case. Thanks again everyone!!!! |

Congratulations ! Rob has been a little modest here. This particular defendant was allegedly involved in child pornography on a massive scale. During his investigation, Rob discovered major quantities of still photos, magazines, etc all of minor children in various illegal sexual settings. So he notified the proper authorities who were going to declare the fugitive's residence as a "crime scene" and work it from that angle.Potentially, more felony indictments are in store for this defendant. So this isn't just a first independent closing of a case for Rob and his team, it is the interruption and capture of a child predator. |
